Ultra X England
The Ultra X England takes place in the Peak District National Park, and offers four race distances: 110km, 60km, 50km, and 25km.
- The 110km event is a two-stage race taking place on Saturday and Sunday, and the course consists of two loops (one each day), starting and finishing in the beautiful village of Edale set on the Pennine Way. Each loop takes participants through the surrounding hills and valleys, and past well know peaks such as Kinder Scout and Mam Tor. Total elevation is 4,388m.
- There are checkpoints stationed approximately 10km apart where competitors can access water, snacks, shelter, and if necessary, medical support.
- The 60km event is a single stage race that runs on the Saturday, with an elevation of 2,423m.
- The 50km event, with an elevation of 1,961m, is a single-stage race taking place on the Sunday, following the same route but starting 2 hours later.
- The 25km is a single stage race that runs on the Sunday, with an elevation of 957m.
Inhabited from the Mesolithic era, the Peak District has a rich history of agriculture, mining and quarrying, and is now famous for its vast natural landscapes, spa towns, caves and network of footpaths and cycling trails. With a huge variety of remote terrain, challenging climbs, and stunning upland scenery on offer, the Peak District is one of the best trail running locations in the country.
Competitors will be able to camp at Race HQ at Newfold Farm in Edale on Friday and Saturday nights, where they will have access to therapist treatment, medical care and hot water. If competitors would like to camp on Sunday night after the race they are welcome to do so.
Ultra X England’s races are both UTMB® Index Races, in the 100k and 50k categories respectively
