Threerace Bike Ultramarathon Uruguay
Threerace Bike Ultramarathon Uruguay brings one of South America’s most respected MTB endurance events to the Atlantic coastline of Rocha, based out of the beachside town of La Paloma. Born from Threerace Sports’ long track record running MTB ultramarathons in Brazil, this edition marks the brand’s expansion into Uruguay through a joint operation with local outdoor adventure specialists Azimut Extremo — pairing international event experience with deep local terrain and logistics knowledge.
The race is built as a three-day stage race designed to test every dimension of a mountain biker’s ability: explosiveness, endurance, strategy, technical skill, and sheer determination to keep pushing. It opens with a short, sharp XCC circuit race in the official event arena right on the beachfront, setting an intense tone before the real test begins. The following day brings the “Queen Stage” — the longest and most demanding day of the race, taking riders deep into the rural roads and natural landscapes of the Rocha countryside, with sustained climbing and technical sections that typically decide the overall standings. The event closes back in La Paloma with a final stage that rewards consistency over the whole weekend, finishing in style along the coast.
Beyond the racing, the event carries the atmosphere Threerace has built its reputation on: a beachfront race village, full hydration and feeding support, on-course medical care, basic mechanical assistance, and a proper bike wash station, all wrapped in the camaraderie of riders from across Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Brazil converging on one destination.
Whether chasing overall classification or simply looking to test yourself against South America’s best mountain bikers on a genuinely international stage, Threerace Bike Ultramarathon Uruguay offers a complete, well-supported stage race in one of the continent’s most scenic coastal regions.
