The Geita Gold Mine Kili challenge is a fundraising initiative that annually hosts a cycle and climbing expedition. Our team of cyclist traverse around the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro while the climbers trek up the mountain in an effort to reach Uhuru peak. The cycle is a group activity and not a race. We aim to ride a challenging yet enjoyable predetermined route around the base of the mountain. The total distance is approximately 500 km with a total ascent of +/-10 000 meters over seven days. The predicted average speed of the ride will be around 15 km/hr.
Interested cyclists will need to be fit and have previous cycling experience. Note this is not a race – it is intended to be a team effort to raise funds. The Kili 360 Cycle Challenge package will include all food, tented accommodation, excludes park fees.
We cycle for a cause!
The funds are allocated to Aids research, supporting orphanages, hospitals & clinics in efforts to decrease the impact of the disease on those left behind & reduce the stigma of those with HIV/Aids.
