KARUKINKA GRAVEL RACE

THE SOUTHERNMOST STAGE GRAVEL RACE IN THE WORLD

The third edition of the Karukinka Gravel Race will take you to discover one of the paths least explored by humans, in a virgin and pure natural environment, such as is the southern tip of Tierra del Fuego Island. It’s is a gravel racing stage race, where each of the 40 competitors must complete a total of 5 stages.

The organiser’s main objective is for competitors to reach where very few have reached, in a territory that shows its hidden beauty and that has been experienced by few.

Breathtaking riding and scenery

The race takes place, for the most part, on the Vicuña-Yendegaia Route, a path forged by the Military Labor Corps (CMT), who for years have been in charge of the construction of the land route that links the Strait of Magellan to the Beagle Channel.

More specifically, the route progresses through the commune of Timaukel, located in the extreme south of the Province of Tierra del Fuego, from north to south near the Sierra Carmen Silva, the plain of the Rio Grande. This spectacular landscape alternates between the Magellanic pampa, with its first forests where a significant population of guanacos live, and the lake area, where the Lynch Lake, Escondido Lake, Blanco Lake, and Fagnano Lake (Kami) are all stand outs.

The Karukinka Gravel Race is one that seeks to allow you the freedom to immerse yourself in nature and on your riding, without having to worry about tedious logistical issues.
