Inyatsi Swazi Frontier is a pair’s stage race held over 3 days in the north west corner of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland). The route is carefully designed to showcase some of Eswatini’s most spectacular and scenic mountains and valleys. Overnights stops are at a variety of attractive and comfortable resorts, lodges and hotels where riders will experience a mix of accommodation including chalets, backpackers, cottages, dorms and luxury rooms. On the first night only, some riders with a Standard Entry package will stay in tents and others in the Backpacker Dorm. Riders with an Upgraded Entry package will stay in a chalet on the first night. There are no tents on the 2nd or 3rd night.
The route follows a logical progression from one overnight venue to the next and covers a total of 180kms. Make no mistake, Eswatini is not flat! As a result, this race is tailored for hard-core, mountain bike purists.
The route is almost entirely unmarked except for some of the fast flowing descents and some tricky sections. Teams follow a GPS track to find their way along the route. A GPS unit is essential .
There is one water point each day at approximately the halfway mark.
