Get to know the Overberg
Just a short drive from Cape Town, the Overberg is one of the Western Cape’s most striking regions. Rugged mountains, rolling farmland, wild fynbos, and sweeping coastal views define this adventure-rich landscape.
ROUTE
Stage 1 – Benguela Cove to Oak Valley
61 km | 1 150 m climbing
A spectacular new start at Benguela Cove sets the tone. Rolling gravel, fast forest descents, and flowing trails through Wildekrans and Beaumont lead to the defining climb up Katpas, before a smooth, scenic run into Oak Valley Estate.
Stage 2 – Oak Valley Loop
67 km | 1 350 m climbing
A high-energy day packed with trail favourites, playful features, and technical switchbacks. Fast vineyard starts, iconic descents, and crowd-lined sections make this the most gees-filled stage of the race.
Stage 3 – Oak Valley to Lourensford
63 km | 1 250 m climbing
The final chapter blends flowing singletrack with history. Highlights include the Gantouw Pass portage, scenic estate riding, and an adrenaline-filled finish through Lourensford Wine Estate, capped by the Fair Cape Floating Bridge.
