Back for the 7th time by popular demand, it’s The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience and is, without a doubt, the most popular stage race in Gauteng. In true Leverage Corporation fashion, this will be a ride where you will be challenged; it will be a ride which you will enjoy; and it will be a fantastic event which is well organised and run.
This must be part of your 2017-training programme, especially if you’ve committed to doing one or more of the big mountain biking events in 2017 – Epic, Joburg2C or Sani2C.

It’s a tough and challenging three-day MTB event starting on Friday 17th to Sunday 19th February 2017

You have a choice of doing one of the following events:
1) 3 days: The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience,
2) 2 days: The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Weekend Experience, or
3) 1 day: The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Mini Experience – Corporate Packages only

The 3-day experience will start and finish at the Thatch Cafe, Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve in The Cradle of Humankind, some three days later.
Date: Friday 17 – Sunday 19 Feb 2017
Distance: 80km | 70km | 60km
Solo Rider: R2 500 (no fee increase)
Teams of Two: R 5 000 (no fee increase)

Here’s what the race entails:
Day 1: An 80km “warm up” – starting at The Thatch Cafe, Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve and finishing at the amphitheatre at Maropeng in The Cradle of Humankind.
Day 2: A tough and challenging 75km route starting and finishing at Maropeng. But you’ll need to negotiate more than a couple “men from the boys” climbs and technical bits before arriving back at Maropeng.
Day 3: A final 60km burst from Maropeng to The Thatch Cafe, Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve.

210 km later – you’re now ready for that 5 star spoil. Kick back and enjoy a leisurely lunch, compliments of us, while you relax on the lawns and soak up the views in the company of family and friends.

Visit the event website for more info and details on the 2-day and 1-day races, or enter now on the Cycle Events entry portal.
